Piera
I everyone, I’m fresh started into listening the podcast and I find it very useful. I’m an EMDR therapist and I practice EMDR since I had my training. The one thing I’m starting to notice, is that there is still confusion and “mistery” around how EMDR works inside the brain, while there shouldn’t be. There are many different studies demonstrating exactly what the mechanism of action is, and this is something that I explain to my patients all the time (adjusting to their educational level or using methapors).
Here I post one of the groundbreaking studies carried out by a lead researcher for National Center of Research in Italy, Dr Marco Pagani:
Pagani,M.,DiLorenzo,G.,Verardo,A.R.,Nicolais,G.,Monaco, L.,Lauretti,G.,

Good Morning Piera! Thank you so much for your comment and resource. This sounds like a GREAT episode idea. We will get things organized to record and release this as an upcoming episode.

Piera,
Can you share with us what it is you say to the client? In my EMDR training, the trainer said it is unknown scientifically what happens in the brain, so I would love this information.

Carolyn we must think alike. I actually just sent Piera an email asking if she would be open to sharing any specific resources for clients that she has. :0)

So well done!!! And so very helpful for this newbie to EMDR. I recently finished my training and didn’t hear anything near as good and clear as this about how to explain it to a client. Thank you thank you!!
